Described by some as 'redefining luxury', this unique holiday residence has combined modern technology with an eco-friendly ethos. Haven, and nearby The Hide, have been specifically designed to blur the boundaries between living area and nature. Huge expanses of glass used in their architecture positively invite guests to explore nature and allow the magnificent external surroundings to be as much a part of the luxury experience as the exacting attention to detail internally. The collection of eco retreats is run by our friends at Natural Retreats and we have two retreats specifically designated for our Country Retreats guests, the Hide and Haven. If you are looking to make a group booking and perhaps need more than two retreats, just give us a call and we will see what we can do for and will work out a special price for your party

This could qualify for no less than our highest 5 duckling child-friendly rating. Children are free to run and play, explore the surroundling acres and discover nature and wildlife first hand. Travel cot and highchair available on request.

Location and Surrounding Area

Located on the edge of the National Park and within a mile of the quaint town of Richmond, our two country retreats here,  Haven and the The Hide, are ideally placed for exploring the Wensleydale and the North Yorkshire Dales, with places such as Asygarth Falls, Hawes, Leyburn and Bainbridge all within easy access as well as the larger towns of Harrogate, Ilkely and York

Recommendations

Couples, families and groups of up to 12 if booked with our other property The Hide. Ideal for family gatherings, reunions, birthday parties, girls groups, walking groups and, in fact, anyone who enjoys the countryside wishing to explore this beautiful yet understated area.

'A really different place to stay and gave us an opportunity to spend some quality family time together without all the usual distractions of life! We found our retreat to be spacious, light, well designed and enjoyed waking up each morning to the countryside views, the birds and the rabbits. I had no excuse not to go out running every morning and the rest of my family, were out on their bikes before breakfast each morning. We did have great weather so this helped the holiday but can imagine a winter weekend with the log burner being just as enjoyable'
